Message From Our Board President
The Team at ECC and The Labrador West Young People’s Association are very excited to be able to offer our clients’ leading-edge, high quality services. From our client-centred case management approach, to our workshops and resource library, much preparation and thought has gone into each and every one of our services with the intent of giving our clients every possible advantage.
Employment and career counselling services have been a long time coming for this area and our services will continue to grow as the needs of our clients and the labour market itself grows. We aim to foster an approach that will enable our clients to become self sufficient in retaining sustainable employment that meets their skills and interests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped us open our doors on December 1, 2005. Particular thanks have to be given to the Board of Directors for the Labrador West Young People’s Association, the ECC staff, Kay Wall our manager and Service Canada.
Our staff members are involved in the community in a number of ways. All four staff members are involved with community stakeholders such as the Labrador West Status of Women’s Council, Newfoundland and Labrador Literacy Council, Hyron and the Labrador West Youth Center. They will continue to work with these groups as well as any others who may have an impact on employment in our area.

Kay WallManager Kay Wall has been the manager of the Labrador West Youth Center since they opened their doors in August of 2000, and the manger of the Employment Connection Centre since we opened in December of 2005. While Kay is not an on-site manager she can be reached through the email below with any questions you may have.
